Car Accident - lease car

Options
A friend had an accident today, in a company lease car, less than 1 year old
He was bewildered by what to do next. He was in a remote area and the car needed recovery.
Tried phoning RAC. Recovery after accident not included.
Tried calling Kia Accident Assist.
Took ages to get through. Lady said car woul be recovered to a compound abd friend would be dropped of at nearest point where they could make own onward travel arrangements. All very vague and suggested a £145 if the insurance claim was cancelled.
Called insurance broket accident holiness. Similar plan of action to above.
Tried calling Arval (lease company) driver line. No answer

Who should he have called, and why?

If its a company lease car, the company should have a policy in place on who to call

The AA and RAC used to do recovery after an accident, but they realised that they could exclude it from cover, and make it chargeable as part of the insurance claim.

As to your friend, they should call their company fleet manager for advice.

He should have called his insurer.

Yes, there will be a charge for recovery if he doesn't make an insurance claim - and it will be part of the claim if he does. If the other driver's at fault, their insurance pay. If he's at fault, his do. Same for the onward travel.

If your friend was working when this happened then he should have contacted his employer.

Being stranded in a remote area is a H&S issue - Employers are responsible for their employees H&S and should have a policy in place for their employees safety when they are working - whether this is on or off site.
