I wish to retire next year with my employers final salary pension.
With a recession forecasted and the cost of living crisis is this wise or could it be a investment opertunity?

I don't quite follow what taking your pension has to do with an investment opportunity.
Have you reached normal retirement age for your scheme (the age at which you can take the pension without actuarial reduction)?
What does your scheme guide have to say about how your pension increases in payment?
Would your pension be your sole source of income in retirement?
Have you obtained a state pension forecast?

I have struck out the last phrase, as I have no idea what you mean,Agauld said:I wish to retire next year with my employers final salary pension.

Otherwise a recession will have no effect on the terms and conditions of your pension payments, which are guaranteed. Unless the pension/employer is in financial trouble.

The only thing I can think of is they are considering getting a CETV, cashing in and investing the money, which as we all know is almost impossible to do these days.0
