British Gas & Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS)

Yesterday my BG electricity account was credited with the first £66 ; it caused an issue with the "algorithm" calculating end of contract balance and DD required, as it flagged up that I should reduce my DD by ~ £68 pm !!!
Today ,my account sees £66 being debited to "outgoing payments" but the account is still showing that I need to reduce DD by ~ £40pm - I despair !
As my review is due in December ,I'll leave the DD alone as its been changed 5 times already since January.0 -
Iam a british gas customer, on the 16th october my direct debit payment was made and I am £304 in credit and on the 19th october £66 was paid in which took me to £370 in credit, again on the 19th october the £66 was removed from my account,I looked into my bank account to see if BG had paid into my bank but there has been no payment from BG.So I assume BG have removed the £66 from me and added it to thier account . Why was it not left in my BG account .The goverment have done the right thing and paid it into my energy account to help me pay for my electric. Now BG have the money in thier account for several days I assume . British Gas have in the region of 7 million energy customers that adds up to quite a bit of interest they will be making on our goverment payments instead of leaving in our energy accounts where it was paid into0

You assume that BG have taken money from your account and put it into "theirs"? What a strange assumption.lyn9812 said:Iam a british gas customer, on the 16th october my direct debit payment was made and I am £304 in credit and on the 19th october £66 was paid in which took me to £370 in credit, again on the 19th october the £66 was removed from my account,I looked into my bank account to see if BG had paid into my bank but there has been no payment from BG.So I assume BG have removed the £66 from me and added it to thier account . Much more likely is that they have started the refund of the money into your bank account but it just hasn't arrived yet.0 -
Took around 5 days for the £66 to "vanish" from my BG account before reappearing in the bank account my DD comes from.lyn9812 said:Iam a british gas customer, on the 16th october my direct debit payment was made and I am £304 in credit and on the 19th october £66 was paid in which took me to £370 in credit, again on the 19th october the £66 was removed from my account,I looked into my bank account to see if BG had paid into my bank but there has been no payment from BG.So I assume BG have removed the £66 from me and added it to thier account .
