Promotion of Virgin Money?

Having looked at the Facebook page for Virgin Money UK, there are hundreds of posts from people who, like myself, cannot get their money out of the bank.  There seem to be all sorts of technical problems (I'm facing many of them at the moment).  I moved £25k from the savings account into the current account in order to get it back into my linked account with Lloyds.  But it was referred to a special department.  They offer to call you back - which they do - but as the phone doesn't ring (yes it does with other calls) I've missed them.  Try to access app but it's blocked.  Also I can't access it online.  Contrast this with the likes of Marcus and Chase whose apps work wonderfully.... I feel the mention of the 1.71% as a top easy access account ought to come with an MSE Mental Health Warning.

All banks hold up large payments randomly, predominantly because of the number of claims by people who claim they have been scammed, and because banks are now obliged to reimburse these people. So, quite unsurprisingly, banks are now covering their backsides and are making extra checks which are a massive PITA to people who want to make legit payments and don‘t dream of claiming their money back.

Marcus won‘t hold up your withdrawals, as you can only make them to your previously registered current account. Chase will, like any other bank, make random checks and hold up payments. All you can do is either wait until the payment is released by the bank, or you can try and call them to speed up the release. Though if you succeed with the latter, it may well mean somebody else has to wait longer - - - and you yourself could be the someone else who has to wait longer if others Q jump.

Be angry with the numpties and/or with the fraudsters that caused this situation.

NB. MSE do not promote or recommend any savings accounts. They just list them based on the highest interest rates.
