Party wall

Is it possible to get Party wall Award when there is a boundary dispute? If yes, what things need to be included in the PW so that both parties will be protected?

Comments

  • Yes, depending on the work a party wall Award can be agreed by a surveyor whether or not there is a boundary dispute. If the work is to build a new wall on the boundary the party wall process provides a way to determine where the boundary is. This is done by issuing a Line of Junction notice. If your neighbour disputes where the line of junction (boundary) is, the party wall surveyors can agree where they think it is and issue an award setting this out.
