  • Just a quick comment on this, i had mineral felt about 9 years ago, from the start there was a bit of pooling (but it was always gone within 24 hours) but it has never leaked in the 9 years since.

Having said that, the job looks poor from the photos im afraid, hope it is now sorted

Our neighbours had a new extension done, including a flat roof. From our bedroom window, I noticed the local gulls were enjoying  themselves having  a bathe, after rain, on the roof. I mentioned this to the neighbours, as I was not sure it was visible to them. They said they had queried it with the installer, and he had said it was OK as its a 'warm roof', which raised several questions in my mind....

ponding on flat roofs is crap, I have it and I have a new liquid rubber roof, there's little chance of it leaking I'm sure of that now but in winter it develops green algae as the water stands there that long, and as soon as the wind comes along it blows it off my garage roof and onto the white K rend, which has eventually stained it green
the ponding I have to endure is because it's a semi garage with one gutter on the lower side, I'm on the low side,  and had it re done with liquid rubber 4 years ago, but as there was a really low pitch to begin with putting another layer on the low side has made it almost level and water just stands on both roofs all the time.
shortly after getting mine re done I mentioned the ponding, and was reassured by the contractor that it's 1 million percent waterproof and they guarantee it, yes thats fine but a pond of green water on top of a brilliant white k rend garage isn't great!

@ fenwick458,  would a wicking material enclosed in say a 3/16" beerline and run from puddling area down into downpipe help in stopping problem. Have been thinking about how to attach so it does not blow away but have not come up with anything.
