Tracking showing not delivered

Hi,
looking for some advice on an item that hasn’t arrived. I won an item which was posted on 2/8 and should have arrived on the 10/8, I left it a few more days and when it didn’t arrive today I opened a case. Seller has now added tracking, it’s the type of tracking that only shows updates when it’s delivered, and it shows it hasn’t been delivered. Seller has told me I have to wait 20 days for a refund as she can’t make a claim from Royal Mail until then.

I have explained to the seller that I won’t be able to wait that long as the case will time out, the response was that she can only go on what Royal Mail has told her. I can escalate the case later this week, will the tracking showing not delivered be in my favour.
Thanks in advance
Debbie

Yes, as long as item doesn’t show as delivered the case will be found in your favour. Just escalate when you can and don’t bother corresponding with the seller any more.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As per Soolin. I've been on the end of claims as a seller. EBay have a shorter period to log a 'non-delivery' to Royal Mail, but cest la vie. If the buyer logs a lost item report you as a seller need to refund them. You have given sufficient time for it to arrive so should log a 'not received' claim. If it turns up after you are refunded, contact the seller about this. I've had an item arrive 2 days after I refunded and the buyer contacted me to pay for it.May you find your sister soon Helli.

Thanks TripleH, and yes of it arrives after the refund I’ll repay, I’d rather have the item than a refund, and wouldn’t want to leave anyone out of pocket .0

Just thought I would update this, the item arrived this morning, in perfect condition so I have closed the case and let the seller know.0

Yes it does, the 2nd Aug, which is the date the seller told me she had posted it, so looks like it just got very delayed.1

Reason I ask is with the introduction of more sorting machines.,more items end up looping with address issues.
the machine repeats its original incorrect destination sort when items come back in.0 -
The address is correct, but underneath the house number and street she has added her ebay ID as though it is part of the address, and then continued with town and post code, could that have caused an issue ?0

Does it have a horizon label (the PO sticky type)
Sometimes the clerk can mis key the postcode and the PSM reads the 2D barcode data0
