Shawbrook Bank Easy Access Account

Asking on behalf of my Mum. She has opened easy access account, but is reluctant to put in £1000 min straight away. Would rather do a test with a smaller amount first and then add more when it's gone through. Has anyone else done this please? It's the normal thing to do in my eyes, but I'm not with them, so don't know. She's not keen on using an app based account like Zopa, so Shawbrook seems to be the next best option at the moment.

Yes, most people do an initial £1 deposit and when that's gone through OK, transfer the rest. With Shawbrook though, the higher rate won't be applied until there's at least £1000 in the account.1

I've opened an Easy Access Cash ISA and 6 month Fixed Rate with Shawbrook and made initial £1 test deposits into each without any problems. Just be aware that payments into Shawbrook accounts can sometimes take an hour or two to show depending on what time of the day you make them and if it's later in the evening, they may not show up until the next working day.1

Yes, I did that with Shawbrook. Just bear in mind that if she does it out of hours it won’t show up straight away.ToastLady said:Asking on behalf of my Mum. Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
