Pip mobility upgraded to enhanced.

Options
Hi all

So I was awaiting results of my pip review. I sent back the forms in April before the requested date as I was due to be away when they wanted it. I sought help last time when I initially applied but I had to do my review forms myself.

I got the dreaded letter on Saturday which I thought would mean I would have it stopped but to my surprise I am keeping my daily living award and they have increased my mobility award to 12 points for unable to plan a familiar journey. I now have enhanced on both daily living and mobility.

So other than getting car tax back what else can I get. I'm not looking at notability as we just bought a car on finance and I don't drive.
I looked at the blue badge and even though I get a higher award they only give out on case of descriptor e and ten points which I don't think I qualify for as I got 12 points.

It's not about the money but it does help espically in this current climate. I wanted pip to help get the carer tickets and other things pip passport you to.
Is there anything else I could get now.
Thank you

    Doesn’t impact anything.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Sorry to hear about your disability, but it's positive they have upgraded your award.

My partner and I have used it to get the free carer tickets, which have a rather large scope, including cinemas, gardens, national trust etc. Quite often you have to dig deep on websites to find the existence of these.

Another thing we have is the disabled railcard, which saves her 1/3 off rail travel, and also me when we travel together, and has no time restrictions unlike all of the other railcards.

She gets free exercise facility use on council run facilities, but realistically she can only use the swimming pools with her ability.

Blue badge it depends on your council, there's two criteria that my council use, unfortunately she doesn't quite meet either.
Does yours have this one, and perhaps do you meet it?
    • receives eight points or more under the moving around activity of the mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
I presume you will already be receiving the extra cost of living help if you already had PIP?

Does your council offer a Council tax discount scheme? We can't get this as I earn too much.

I've had to go back into the office recently, so my OH has been struggling on her bad days. Luckily our 1 year old border collie is finally starting to make himself useful and has been helping out around the house, bless him.

Have you tried to apply for a blue badge.
My fiends son only gets lower rate mobility.
He has autism, I helped him claim and a week later got a blue badge.
    Hidden disability.
You go through the application until it says no.
Then there is an option to continue to apply.
Sorry can’t remember what it’s called.
Kwikfit will give back vat on tyres.
    Batterymegastore will give vat back.
Once the car is registered as disabled the dartford crossing is free.
M6 toll road is free. But applicants £7 a year. Did it 2 days ago.

I tried for a blue badge a few years ago but even though I said that I can't hear cars coming behind me and also from blind spot corners and my husband has to pull me back and help me cross through the car park I was still denied.
