why is the BGas billing system so rubbish?

Serious question....  my experience of those tinpot utility suppliers who went belly up was they ran an okay billing system. 

BGas system SO bad you couldn't make it up.  I've just requested that they switch my meter settings back so that I can go back to submitting readings as the one they slapped onto my account, (from where I don't know), was lower than any of my readings since they took over from PfP and resulted in a consumption figure for the month of around 1 million KwH, their system calcs assuming that the meter had gone round the clock.

    I hate that they only bill every six months and you can’t submit meter readings to get an up to date figure.  I can see my electricity use in kwh and ££s on the BG app but not my gas,  it’s never worked.

    @NannaH I suppose I should be grateful I only have electricity with them.  I read on this forum that the new system hasn't got variable DD as an option.  That's probably a good thing at the moment!

    I hate that too.  My gas smart meter, installed in June, also plays dumb.  Various excuses given.  The app does not work for me.  Shows neither elec nor gas usage.
