in Credit cards
Hello!
So basically 2 weeks ago I applied for a credit card, going on a family holiday soon so thought I’d get one for this (realised I may have left it too late now!)
I rang them a week after the application and they said it had been approved and I should get an email with terms and conditions within 2 days, waited the 2 days still nothing.
I rang them again and spoke to a guy who said there wasn’t a request to email me so he’s just done that for me and should receive within 2 days, still nothing!

Rang them on Friday and got put through to the actual credit card department and the lady had said the last guy didn’t put a request in, however she has now done it and should receive an email within 2 days.
My question is, how long do I keep waiting/ringing?
Is it worth me applying for a different credit card, in the hope I receive it by 2nd September when I go away?
If I apply for another one and then I get the email from hsbc to accept the terms and conditions, can I just ignore one of the applications?
any advice on what to do? Or who to apply for who have good communication?
many thanks!

Apply for another to maximise your chances of getting a card in time.
If you get offered both, accept both.0 -

If you really need to, yes. If you do, try to build up to having a number of credit cards later on.0

You don't have to use them all regularly, but keep them ticking over to prevent dormancy.
When your main card is declined, you'll want at least one working back up.0 -

Yes. But your 999 score is a made up number that has no impact on credit decisions, so it doesn't matter.1

It took over 6 weeks for mine to come through as it got lost in the post. After chasing and getting them to issue a new one, the old one turned up 2 days before the new one - but i couldn't use it as it had been cancelled. It really had been in the postal system as the envelope had been stamped with a date s heck knows where it was all this time.If you have a branch close to you, ask for it to be sent there so you can collect it - may speed things up for you.0
