Hello everyone
I'm been in to town this morning for another eye test - the new contacts I got last time weren't right so the prescription has been changed slightly ...fingers crossed I think they're better this time. I have a different prescription for each eye which makes things more complicated. I also chose new glasses - I hardly wear them but need some in case I can't wear my contacts for some reason.
Then I called at Home Bargains for some bits and found they had small tins of Heinz beans a lot cheaper than at Tesco - I know cutbacks are necessary but the Tesco own brand ones just don't taste the same!
Bus home and very nice leftover lasagne for lunch. I have the afternoon to myself so am going to have a tidy and hoover and finish unpacking. Then I'll get comfy and read.
It rained heavily through the night and was very foggy again this morning. Now it's just cloudy though still warm. heavy rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
It seems as if the Kindle Fire might be the solution for dad - I called this morning and moved all the apps I could into folders so there's only a few on the screen now including Audible. My mam is having trouble switching it on though so I've told her to just leave it on when he is finished with it today - I'm hoping it just wakes up again with a touch of the screen.
I've booked myself a night away in York in a couple of weeks time staying in a lovely looking place - it's in a building which is the oldest convent in England and is still a working convent. The history of it is so interesting.
Well better get on - hope everyone has a good day.9 -
Afternoon all,Snoozer hope Esben sleeps better soon.A few spits & spots of rain appearing now & blue sky gone but at least it's cooler. The wedding was lovely, in a big old mansion but a newer bit tagged on for the function room, which had a glass roof over the top table - phew, don't know how the bride coped in her long dress. My poor cousins face was rather red sat there, she kept her hat on to give herself a bit of shade
They had a lovely outside terrace under a wisteria, we went under there as soon as the ceremony and meal were over with. It was great that us cousins all got together, we do meet up regularly but without the men. We have one male cuz but his wife comes instead of him when we lunch out ( but he'd be welcome anyway) Took a slight wrong turning on the way home, just a few minutes longer. We saw the stunning big full moon, gorgeous!

Am back home - the drive down was fairly quiet though on the return journey things were much busier. Plus there was some sort of motorbike event being held on the Rest. The hygienist is always gentle'ish. I go every three months because of the implants so things aren't bad. I dropped off a return parcel to Amazon and a load of stuff to the CS. There wasn't anything I needed to buy so didn't tarry. Unfortunately I totally forgot to drop off something for Camelot
as I had promised. Too much on my mind!
No thunder here, only rain which is light for now. After the deluge yesterday my fingers are crossed that we've had enough.Coxy - huge congratulations! I know you'll feel rewarded on it.8 -

Lot cooler today still shorts temp though. Nice to have the shutters and windows open this morning.
washing on, need to sort the dishwasher and the bins. What an exciting life eh.
Scared myself thinking about the possibilities of power cuts last night. I'm not great getting round the house without full illumination never mind in the pitch black so I decided the torch needed to come out of the room of doom (the garage) and be somewhere obvious. Recharged it fully and hung in the hall so it's easy to find now. Need to find some candles now too.
Not much planned today heading to mums tomorrow so I'll have a clearish day today in prep
Have a lovely day everyone8 -
Good afternoon everyone I have had my password reset by admin and hopefully this post will get through Ok . The weather is still pretty warm and living in Kent I am so looking forward to some rain to freshen the air. I spent most of yesterday decluttering my kitchen cupboards and getting them into some sort of order. No shopping to do now for the rest of the month as I have more than enough to keep me going.
Locally tomorrow Virgin are doing some sort of repairs so I shall probably be off tomorrow during the day ,so maybe I will be doing some more decluttering of sorts.
Glad to be back chums JackieO xx12 -

Nelski - I am always afraid I will fall over something to get to the flashlight - so I have them all over- next to my bed, hanging in the toilet, on the side of the refrigerator held with a magnet, on both sides of the car under the seats, in my purse (for coming home at night), next to where I sit watching TV. I even gave each of my nephews about 30 different style flashlights and lanterns along with batteries for their wedding presents.6

Nelski I have a walking stick with a light on, like you I'm terrified of falling when it's pitch black (to be fair I don't need it to be dark right now!). I don't know if you use one but that's a great help for me.
Hi to everyone else, hope you've all had a great day. I'm glad temps are coming down as MS and heat do not mix!5
