Now back! It's a quiet grey start here, warm enough though. We went to the coast late yesterday afternoon, and there was a thick white mist, but it was still warm. Plenty of people about, sitting on the beach, kids digging etc, and people in the water, just ghostly figures seen through the mist!We had a walk on the beach, then fish and chips, they were very nice.Headed home after that, but it was a bit of a change.I have no particular plans for today, it's same old same old really.Hope everyone has a good Monday, take care folks.11

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, fish and chips are always good at the beach!
Back to work for me today, hoping I can get there before the bad weather starts. We had a couple of loud rumbles of thunder yesterday about 7pm but only a little rain, not really enough to even wet the pavements.
I didn't do very much at all yesterday apart from the shopping, most of the day was spent outside reading and enjoying the last of the sunshine.
Hope everyone's well and the holidaymakers are having a good time. Take care. XX9 -
Morning all. I’m already in Glasgow, got a couple of errands and then an hygienist appointment.Yesterday was lovely until just before noon when the heavens opened with a vengeance. This lasted for the remainder of the day.My visit to old friends was really good though I got soaked going back to my car. Luckily, I’m not made of sugar so didn’t melt! 🤣 Thunderstorms are in the offing.Keep well and safe. Happy Monday to all.9

Morning
Lot cooler today still shorts temp though. Nice to have the shutters and windows open this morning.
washing on, need to sort the dishwasher and the bins. What an exciting life eh.
Scared myself thinking about the possibilities of power cuts last night. I'm not great getting round the house without full illumination never mind in the pitch black so I decided the torch needed to come out of the room of doom (the garage) and be somewhere obvious. Recharged it fully and hung in the hall so it's easy to find now. Need to find some candles now too.
Not much planned today heading to mums tomorrow so I'll have a clearish day today in prep
Have a lovely day everyone10 -

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. A bit of a late comer today, I wish I could say I have slept in but sadly not. Though I did manage to sleep a bit better than the night before.
It still feels very warm but we have more cloud cover than recently. We were forecast thunderstorms later but that has now been reduced to light rain! In view of that I have been out watering all the pots etc at the back. They are looking in a sorry state with all the sun and lack of water.
No plans for today but nothing new there. I have a book to finish today so that's this afternoon spoken for. It's one of those books you don't want to end! I might actually catch up on a couple of jobs this morning now it feels marginally cooler. But the first job is change the litter tray and then take the rubbish and recycling to their respective bins.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies or just fed up. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning...Yesterday was up and at em for a visit with OHs sister and children at a camping site about an hour away. Luckily, she'd picked an excellent spot under a massive tree with loads of shade so even though it was silly hot, it was still in the shade. To be fair, it wasn't that bad until the late afternoon/early evening when everything just seem to plump up with heat. I was a melting blob of pore juices after that until about 3 this morning. Today I have to ponder the shelf in the kitchen for the herb pots, it's slowly falling forward [think of a sort of squared u shaped piece of wood where the bottom of the u is splitting from the side ] so I've taken everything off and am wondering whether to try to repair [ I'd need a vice to squish it back] or a new one [trip to ikea] or something different...Still have to finish the bookcase today and take some of my old bags for life and saucepans I don't want to the community larder and see if anyone wants them. I pinkie promise to do that today. Honest guv...Maybe...Looking forward to a week of potential cooler temps and better times...Have a good day y'all....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

Hi everyone,
We've had a very busy few days so I've not had chance to post, I've been catching up late at night.
taff, I'm sorry you've been diagnosed with HF, however mum had it and angina for many years before she died, I think the medication is much better nowadays.
dp1, I was so happy to read that little one is now able to drink normally, she sounds so happy about it.
Izzy, I hope the weather is good for Saturday (without being too hot).
Gers, I hope the hygeinist is gentle, I had one who was brutal, it put me off for ages.
I've been up since 5.30 with Esben. His sleep is all over the place atm, he was in a cycle of going to sleep late and then napping too long during the day so Laura is trying to drop the naps. He didn't have a nap yesterday but was still raring to go at bedtime. Eventually fell asleep at 9.00 but woke at 3.40. He fell asleep again at 6.30 for about and hour so we shall see what today brings.
I took advantage of him sleeping again to clean the kitchen windows but I'm starting to flag now, I think a nap for me will be in order today. Laura is still fast asleep and Brian and Steve are around doing DIY jobs. We have two more days to get this house ready for guests and still a lot to do.
Have a good day.

Morning all,
I've been asked to join a high profile project at work - it's only until 9 September but it's all a bit terrifying! I won't bore you with the details but suffice to say, I will give it my best shot!!
A bit less warm and stuffy today, and hoping for some rain. DH is in Birmingham again today, and I've planned ahead with a slow cooker full of chilli con carne. I will be painting first coat of satinwood on the downstairs doors after work. It feels like the end is in sight - hurrah!
@-taff - slow down missus!
Have a good day everyone and hugs to the poorlies.
