Bringing a barometer back to life

Or more specifically, the thermometer element after it was stored horizontally for some months:

I've tried the standard "sharp shake down" method as you would with a oral thermometer but no joy. Recommendations?

Seal in plastic bag or wrap in towel and put in freezer for short period ,?
Failing that hairdryer pointed a nodule at bottom see it that reunites liquid.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke1 -
