Sorry to hear you are struggling, but I wish you had come here before paying. You might have saved that cash

I am so sorry you paid what MPs declared to be an 'outrageous scam' (Hansard 2.2.18).

Please try a complaint to Iceland if you were using the store.  How bloody dare they do this to good people.

Actually, you were probably caught by ANPR which is unreliable as to timing and does not measure 'parked time' but time in total in the car park. You may well have been parked within the grace period.

Edit to add ...poor signage is another defence

It wasn't your fault the signs weren't prominent.

If you've paid it, I'm not sure there's anything to update. For the future, if you're not using the retailer/company whose car park you've used, it is essential you read the signs to see exactly what you are committing to paying if you are in breach of the parking conditions displayed - before you leave your vehicle and walk away from the car park.

There really isn't any unconditional free parking any more. Assume every private car park is a trap with contractual conditions loaded against you, then you're more likely to avoid any shocks arriving through your letterbox, or slapped on your windscreen. No one has the right to park wherever they want, whenever they want, however they want, for whatever they want. It's the new order, I'm afraid.

Was that a bit of a snark?  Please enlighten me on what you think you might be updating.  Are you taking some kind of further action?  We can't mind-read.
