What's the temperature in your house today?

Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering what is a "normal" temperature indoors during a hot day such as today in a regular house in the UK. I'm asking because we've lived in our 1930s 3 bed semi-detached house for the last two years and I've gradually been making modifications, specifically loft and cavity wall insulation earlier this year. All of these things have been easily measured simply by a reduction in energy usage, however keeping the house cool isn't something I've been able to see if I've improved. So I'm wondering how other houses are fairing, particularly those similar to mine.
Today at 11am my living room is 26.8C and I live in Norfolk.

I'm in a newish bungalow in the south west.
An almost constant it's 24C day and night. It's been around 30c outside.
The house is built largely to conserve heat as you may expect in the uk. I get full sun front or back all day.
So I use foil blankets over windows in full sun changing front to back as the sun moves. Survival blankets or the car ones.
When I had a semi similar to yours I found opening the loft hatch would release heat upwards. The downside was more noise.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Lounge (also south facing) 25.7°C whilst the outdoor temperature is ~24°C and climbing (all temps as of 11:00).Indoor temperatures are remaining fairly constant throughout the day/night with a couple of degrees variation between min & max. This is in a similar sized & age property, also in the foothills of Norfolk. Have been recording data such as temperature & humidity for the last 2 years so that I can see what measures have been worthwhile.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

About the same here in South East. 22°C in front (Northish) and just over 27°C in the kitchen at the back right now. The other back room I just went to test is 24°C which I am delighted by as we installed indoor shutters this year and they've been incredible for thermal insulation on all accounts. Outside registers currently 37°C just by that very same window on the patio thermometre as there is little shade sadly.

Make sure your thermometer is in a shaded spot so that you are actually measuring the air temperature. If sunshine is falling on the thermometer, it will be artificially inflating the reading - Could be as much as 10°C (or more) due to solar heating.Soot2006 said: Outside registers currently 37°C just by that very same window on the patio thermometre as there is little shade sadly.

Draw the curtains on the sunny side - makes more difference than you'd expect

We've got blackout blinds covered by blackout curtains. I've been trying all permutations of windows covered, not covered, windows open, windows closed and it hasn't made the slightest difference.TheGardener said:Draw the curtains on the sunny side - makes more difference than you'd expect
All I've found is that it feels cooler with the windows open rather than closed even though the temperature appears the same. It feels less stuffy and humid.2 -
31.6 in my South-facing kitchen-diner. French doors, side door (E) and front door (N) open to catch any breeze. Blinds all down. Elsewhere, most of the house is 27. Mid-Somerset
