British Gas economy 7

Hello,
I have storage heaters in rented accommodation and therefore have economy 7. Was with People's energy and was moved to British Gas with the people's tariff which has day and night rate. Due to an old faulty meter that took them months to repair, I have only now got my British Gas bill from October-July, and the whole thing is being charged with Standard Variable tariff, all one rate (no day and night differentiation even though my new meter is a multimeter with 2 readings on it).
Can I get them to change this bill? Will there be a day and night rate option on standard variable? How to go about switching to an economy 7 rate now - nowhere will give me an online quote because of the high prices.
Thank you for any replies

Yes, you can have E7 on SVT. Looks like they have logged your new meter as single rate, so you need to contact them and get them to rebill. Have they totalised the dual rate readings in order to bill you?
What were you told about your ongoing tariff when you were SoLR'd to BG?
At present your cheapest option is SVT, under the price cap, there are no cheaper fixes at present. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Did you give meter readings for day and night when you were transferred?
Is you new meter a smart meter? BG is unable to handle E7 on smart meters.1 -
I was given the details for People's Tariff (special for peoples energy customers) and told the day and night rates
Until my meter was changed in Jan, I had 2 separate meters (one for day, one for night) and each had their own bills (and customer reference numbers)
I think there are two different circuits in my flat, with the hot water tank and storage heaters on the night one
I got changed to a 'multimeter' which is a Digital meter which shows the 2 rates - and they ask for 2 readings - surely they must know that I need economy 7? And yeah, I gave the opening meter readings too. The multimeter is just 1 account and 1 customer reference now, the one is closed and I got confirmation of that.
The bill isn't totalled I dont think, it is just total kwh in each of the months and the price per kwh is given also, not 2 different ones like it should be.
I haven't been able to get through on the phone so far.
I know the advice is not to change suppliers with the crazy prices, I just want to at least be on an economy 7 rate somewhere haha! (or do all tariffs have an economy 7 option?)
Thank you guys - I will keep trying to get through on the phone and hopefully get the whole bill redone.0 -
2 separate meters means two separate MPAN's, not one, so I suspect this is why with the meter switch they were not flagged as E7, but as 2 entirely separate single rate accounts at the same address.
Totalisation: what I was asking was whether both registers are recording usage, and whether the 2 added together match the usage you are being billed for. if so, they know the usage on each rate, and simply need to rebilll at the correct E7 rates. No free lunch, and no free laptop
