    Hello and welcome.

Searching tells us "Alliance Parking" are mentioned in ninety-four threads on here.

Do you have a parking issue you would like help with?
  • Yes please. My husband put in £1.20 into the machine and another persons car registration came out. There was no one in front of him. So he added another £1.20 into the machine and it printed my registration out. I rang the number on the signage straight away and explained what had happened. The gentleman on the phone told me to put it in writing which I did.

We stayed 1.25 mins and paid two lots of £1.20 which equates to 2 hours.

The email that I sent the recipient refused to accept it which I discovered days later.

I received a parking charge letter on Wednesday and appealed straight away showing them the email that I sent notifying them with pictures of the two tickets and the call log. They have declined my appeal...

I would be grateful for any advice please

    Thanks

Alliance Parking belong to the scammers club called the IPC
The scam IPC run another scam called the IAS which is supposed to be a second appeals service which only allows about 4%
You can try to appeal but as it's a complete scam, it's anyone's guess

    I hope receipts were kept

    What car park and where??

No need to be concerned, this forum ZAPS scammers

You simply cannot pay a scammer

In their FAQ's they say ..
"For the avoidance of doubt, the Registered Keeper will have the oportunity to appeal should we reach point where we are seeking to hold the them liable for the charge; which is usually when we issue a ‘Letter of Claim’ (pre-court proceedings) for £170."

This is just one of their FAQ's which is rubbish. A parking company can only claim the amount of the ticket (£100).   What actually happens next is that they will pass it to one of the low life debt collectors who will add £70 ?
You can ignore these sewer living critters as the are powerless who live in the clouds.
This is fakery introduced by the BPA, another ATA, and copied by the IPC.  BOTH HAVE NO LEGAL AUTHORITY to scam motorists

And the other rubbish they spout ...
"Prior to the commencement of County Court proceedings, the driver is responsibe for a Parking Charge (see POFA Schedule 4, para 5(2), where applicable), as such, ONLY the driver may submit an appeal; as anyone else (including the Keeper) is a third party at this time."

This simple fact is that they can apply for the registered keepers data from the DVLA
They contact you as the registered keeper and you respond as the registered keeper
It is the registered keeper who appeals and there is no obilgation to name a driver
What piffle ... "the registered keeper is a third party" ??.. THEY are the main party
IT'S A TRAP SO THEY CAN FIND OUT WHO THE DRIIVER IS.

    THEY SAY
"The charge is disproportionate to any loss:  The Supreme Court of Appeal ruled that the charge need not represent any loss"

What the Supreme court actually said .... was the parking charge was set at a level so the parking company can cover the costs of operation

That does mean adding a fake amount of £70 which Alliance Parking are doing

It's now a waiting game to see what happens next but YOU MUST IGNORE POWERLESS DEBT COLLECTORS

    I agree. Winnable in court.

Alliance are a really nasty company who by all accounts we've seen, do their level best to rinse money from people and refuse appeals outright.

I truly hope Alliance roll over and fold for good when they inevitably (unless they make big changes) get banned from getting DVLA data in future, once properly scrutinised.

SOME IDEAS ON DETERMINING WHO OWNS THE LAND

    1. Google searches
    2. If a retail park, check on any signage which lists the on-site outlets
    3. Ask retailers on the site if there is a managing agent
    4. Ask retailers on the site to whom do they pay rent
    5. Contact the local authority and ask who pays the non-domestic/business rate for the car park (some councils have a spreadsheet on their website)
    6. Contact the local Valuation Office and ask if they know. They often have a website which might provide the information
    7. Contact The Land Registry and for around £3 they should be able to provide definitive detail
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
