Zopa - HSBC Transfer struggles

john95346 said:The first two test payments went through fine (although I had the same problem with Faster Pay or whatever it's called as mentioned elsewhere). But then I made my first 'substantial' transfer, and of course, my bank's fraud algos kicked in.
Or at least, so I discovered after spending half an hour trying to get through to them yesterday (Barclays). I eventually spoke to someone very friendly and helpful in their fraud department.
Anyway, he released the payment (after going through his routine). And assured me I should have no more problems.
I tried sending another payment this morning (moving in chunks). And of course it got held up.
I'll give them till this afternoon to contact me (or otherwise release it). Before doing battle with their woeful phone service.
I appreciate the banks being so careful (although it's their own backs they're covering). But they have to back this up with letting the genuine payments go through as soon as possible. And not making it so hard to contact them.Sorry to revive a slightly old thread, came across this when reading up on ZopaThe last two lines were EXACTLY my argument with Santander in a complaint recently reagrding long wait times to resolve blocked payments/online banking .....£60 compensation......I would urge others to do the same until they up their staffing levels and stop blaming Covid!!0 -
Just as an update to this, my standing order from HSBC to Zopa went through fine this month and also I've made 2 seperate transfers of around £1k today and they all made it into Zopa without being stopped by HSBC fraud who when I complained for my original issues also comensated me £30 for my trouble.0
