Dishwasher - repair or replace?

Our 6 year old Bosch dishwasher needs a new heating element. Our local reputable repairman can fit a new one for £159 but says if it was him he would replace it. What would you do? Loads of dishwasher last more than 6 years!

We were given a thirdhand (at least) dishwasher when our 4-year old Beko dishwasher broke down and was unfixable. The 'new' dishwasher doesn't have a brand showing anymore, and is probably around 20 years old. We have replaced the wheels on the bottom tray, bought a new cutlery basket, and are about to replace the rollers on the top tray. It's still running perfectly well.
