£400 Energy Discount Delivery Details

Hi Everyone,
I understand there will be a discount of £66 applied to energy bills in October and November, and a discount of £67 each month from December to March 2023. Those who pay by direct debit (monthly or quarterly) will see an automatic deduction from those bills.
The only thing that isn't clear to me is how the automatic discount scheme would work if your Gas & Electricity are with different providers.
I'm with Scottish Power & British Gas. I hardly use any Gas so they would be change from £67 but how would the difference automatically transfer over to Scottish Power? I'm guessing that if you only receive one type of energy from a particular supplier the discount would only be £33 but I'm not sure how suppliers would know about our individual arrangements.
In my case, if the full discount came from Scottish Power there wouldn't be an issue as I'll be paying nearer to £200 a month but how would British Gas know that I've received my full discount?
I'll just wait and see what happens and check the October Bills to see how they've done the automatic discount and go from there but I suspect they'll be some telephone calls to make so sort everything out

This has been asked before. It is supposed to be coming off the electric bill.1

It will all be applied to your electricity bill.1

The £400 are purely against your electricity account.
You need to pay the gas account in full yourself if it is with a different supplier.1
