I like the look of my Nationwide FlexAccount card better than my old FlexPlus card.

Because it looks better. I cancelled the FlexPlus account because my mobile phone is 3 years old now and I don't need the insurance. It was much more difficult to cancel the FlexPlus account which I had to phone them than setting it up which I did easily on the internet. I'm now saving £13 a month. I kept my overdraft and it was simple really. Same account numbers without credit checks.

    So what’s the question here?
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

Question is do you like the difference?

The only thing I can see it that they no longer have any of the insurance benefits and don’t pay £13 fee anymore.

The new debit cards look very ugly to me, I know they have been designed to help partially sighted and blind people tell the difference.

I’m away to do the opposite of you, I’m going to flexplus as I now need the car breakdown, free overseas cash withdrawal and travel insurance.  Will see whether I continue after a year but at the moment it’s the one I want.

Mine (which arrived yesterday) looks pretty different to that. There's no "building society, Nationwide" text and it's got all the normal embossed card/account details.

It's hardly pretty, but it looks like a completely normal card.

EDIT: Actually, it does have that text - it's just colourless so you can only really see it when you reflect light off it.
  • Their design rework is fairly poor all-round but my Flex/Credit are just kept as backup now.
Their Select credit card has gone even more downhill from a sleek silver to a nasty light blue with a gold chip.

Don’t forget with any travel insurance even provided as part of an account you have to meet their criteria. We didn’t and the extra Nationwide wanted was more than the Post Office wanted.

Yes, thanks, due to age we need to pay a top up.
