Smart Meter

Extremely annoyed!  After waiting two months for a Scottish Gas Engineer to turn up today to fit a Smart Meter between hours of 1 and 5 pm, still no sign! On contacting them I was told sorry about that but it would be another 60 days to get another appointment!

I wanted the Smart meter and Engineers advice to show me how to manage and reduce my usage!

They couldn’t care less

No installer is going to show you how to manage and reduce your usage. The installer should hand you a book of energy saving advice similar to this:

Sadly, smart meters do not save money as a thermostat might. The In House Display may frighten you into turning things off! The smart meter may also give you access to slightly cheaper fixed tariffs but this is something you need to discuss your your supplier.
