Single skin garden wall

Hi - I have a single skin brick wall in our garden which is roughly 2.5m high and 6m long. There was ivy all over it when we moved in which I had cut down - only to reveal the wall is bowing and the brick and pointing is in a pretty bad way. The ivy is still on the other side which is potentially supporting the wall and keeping it up, and I assume is rooted underneath the wall.

I had assumed the only way to go is to pull it down and replace it - most likely with a fence. However, are there any cost-effective solutions to strengthen the wall and make it safe rather than have to pull it all down?

Appreciate any thoughts.

I'd just get it fixed properly, sharpish. Here's my mate's wall after the storms earlier this year. He has 2 young daughters and if it had fallen on them, or anyone else, it would have probably killed them.

2.5 Metres is far too high for a 4 inch wall. It's even too high for a 9 inch wall.

Would a possible option for Takay be - assuming the wall founds are ok and don't need redoing - to remove, ooh, ~700mm from the top, and then to have the wall rendered on both sides, with render/coping stones along the top?

The recommended height for a wall in the best zone (1) for a half brick wall is 525mm. Lots of them get built higher than this, but I would say that 1800mm is still a bit high, especially as it's bowed.
