Has anyone ever benefitted from RAC's garage and parts cover?
I have RAC and pay the extra £12 a month for garage and parts cover. However, when I had a coil spring go, I was told that that wasn't covered as it counts as wear and tear. I then asked if they could give me an example of something that was covered and instead, they gave me a list of exclusions that was basically everything that can possibly go wrong on a car.
So I'm just wondering if anyone here has ever had a successful claim on RAC's garage and parts cover, or has ever heard of anyone who has?

Not had Rac cover for this, I had the AA version.
Claimed £475 for an alternator, very simple.
Took to main dealer and they billed the AA direct.
I have an extended warranty for my Peugeot, Made a claim as screen washers were not working.
Gave Peugeot the go ahead to find fault and fix.
They came back and said it’s blocked jets and not covered.
I went to my local mechanic to fix it as he was £100 cheaper, in 2 minutes found it was a split pipe not the washers, went back and made Peugeot fix it.
£230 cost. They did not check or find the fault or even want to fix it.0
