Hi

You can't get a fixed price locked in deal for consumer at the moment and all suppliers are offering the same rates so moving is pointless. However, commercial fixed deals are available. Would you lock into a three year contract now if one was offered?  Seems to me that after this next increase prices can only go down or am I wishful thinking ?

For the next year it looks much better than the current predictions for the SVT.

It is up to you if you want to bet on energy prices not coming down again in 2024.

I have discovered that I can't get a quote from another supplier for my home energy, Octopus will offer me a fixed 1 year contract of

    GAS 19.79

    ELEC 74.64

    GAS SC 27.22

    ELEC SC 47.31

This is much more than I can get with a fixed price 3 year commercial deal

    GAS  16.68

    ELEC 50.14

    GAS SC 25.00

    ELEC SC 27.3

The caveat is that the commercial is 3 years.

Are those commercial rates excl or incl VAT as most energy for business is liable for VAT at 20% I believe so those tariffs might not be quite what they seem?
