Standing Charges

I can understand that the Wholesale energy prices are effecting per kwh prices but why have daily standing charges jumped up so much in my case from 14.65 p gas and 20.59 Electricity to 31.05 gas and 37.68 Electricity this accounts for a large lump of my bills however frugal I am.
