Are there any organisations that take Gas / Electric dual fuel cookers?

My new home has no gas supply, otherwise I'd keep it.

It has an Electric Double Oven with a Gas Hob and in good clean condition. The current model sells on AO for around £900 plus, yet no local charities to me can take it because of the gas hob and glass oven doors. It would be criminal to take it to the the dump, yet that appears to be the only option.

I've tried giving it away on freecycle.....(enough said, if you've ever used that platform!)

Any suggestions before I break it into smaller parts to fit into a tiny city car for dumping?

    Thank you for the suggestions.

Those sites have same issue as Freecycle. Everyone wants it….....delivered, thereafter it appears on eBay (in my area this is very common and one of the reasons I don’t use these platforms). I was hoping someone would benefit from the cooker, not from selling it on.

I found a website called United Society Donations that listed the 'Top 6 Places to Donate Gas Cooker to Charities'. Upon contacting them, none of the 6 accepted cookers??

However, I’ve now dismantled the cooker and taken it to the local dump, it was the only way it would fit in my small car.

Strange. I've sold a washing machine and a dishwasher on Gumtree and both buyers collected them. Neither buyer bought to sell on.
A gas appliance is always going to be more iffy to sell used because of the potential safety issues with gas.

I was looking to gift it, not sell. I used to gift them on Freecycle, but you see the same old members year after year taking items, then reselling them on other platforms.

Still, problem resolved now. One really decent cooker just gone for scrap.
  • A few organisations take gas and electric dual fuel cookers, but they are typically quite specific about the make and model they accept. It's always best to check with the organization beforehand to see if your cooker is compatible.
