    exactly. any type of drive will sink if not prepared properly. It isn't a weakness of block paving drives. which rarel;y need maintenance beyond re-sanding and weeding every so often.

    I admit i like the idea of the plastic gravel retaining grids.

    Yes I know
    my brother has block paving been laid  many years but needs weeding and after many years slight ruts have developed where the car wheel goes 
    I really don’t fancy the idea of weeding/ treating 147 square metres,
    pros and cons with all types of driveways 
    I just thought concrete would be easier to maintain, sealing once a year and jet wash in between
    still cannot decide on the suitable colour though

    Grey is the "in" colour at the moment... Or you could start a trend and go for stripes.
