exactly. any type of drive will sink if not prepared properly. It isn't a weakness of block paving drives. which rarel;y need maintenance beyond re-sanding and weeding every so often.FreeBear said:
If a block paved drive has sunk, that would be a clear indicator that the sub-base has not been prepared properly and is of insufficient depth. Done properly, block paving should not sink.jhe said: Block paving needs maintaining and I notice quite a few around that have sunk.
I admit i like the idea of the plastic gravel retaining grids.0 -

my brother has block paving been laid many years but needs weeding and after many years slight ruts have developed where the car wheel goes
I really don’t fancy the idea of weeding/ treating 147 square metres,
pros and cons with all types of driveways
I just thought concrete would be easier to maintain, sealing once a year and jet wash in between
still cannot decide on the suitable colour though0 -
Grey is the "in" colour at the moment... Or you could start a trend and go for stripes.jhe said: still cannot decide on the suitable colour though
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
