Not sure what I am facing and whether I should fix
My monthly bills gas and electric have gone up from 200pm to £700pm in April which I managed to decrease to £500 pm which has given me a in credit balance which will get me through some of the usage in winter.
I am with sse and my question is should I fix ? if I do this then I will be at £1092. Pm not sure if my increase will be more if I dont do this my salary is less than this a month as I work in education but I would like to know what I am paying and what to do

What fix have you been offered? You need to do the maths on your usage at the comparable rates to see if it's a tariff that is acceptable to you.1

Do you know your yearly usage is in kWh?
What rates have you been offered as a fix?
How much are you in credit and is this estimated reading credit or actual reading credit?

You won't be 'fixing' at £1092, that's just your DD level, which may or may not match what you are actually using.
Post your actual anniual kWh usage for each fuel and proper advice can be given.
You cannot possibly be using £700pm in April, or any other month, so either you are heavily in debt and most of that DD is recovering it, or there is a problem with your reads. No free lunch, and no free laptop1 -
To use £200 per month before April this year you have to be an extreme high user. The cap for 2900KWh electrcity / 12000KWh gas was below £1300. So you would have been using almost double that.
Were you in credit or debt by the end of winter?
Who is your supplier? Maybe Outfox the Market who have extreme fixed tariffs.
Even with the scary predictions the SVT will only round about treble, so a £600 SVT is more likely. A £1090 is impossible if you were not in extreme debt, and you are saying you are in credit a few months later.
The most important for you is to establish why you are using so much energy!1 -
Thanks all - last years useage would have taken into account the fact we were working from home because of lockdown- family of 5 I always switch each year
so the useage will be inaccurate for this year as we are all out of the house. So less used.
My supplier is Scottish power
we are in almost £1500 in credit now

How much did you use last year in kWh (even if it will be a bit less this year)Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Sorry for delay I tried to post a image of my useage and thought it had gone through clearly not I’ll try again0

If you'd like proper advice then please get an actual bill and give actual annual figures of kwh for gas and electric separately plus the rates and standing charge for gas and electric for the tarrif you are on, and also for the tarrif you were offered.Your graph doesn't mean anything other than pretty colours that show usage is more in colder months and less in warmer months. I really don't see why energy companies pay people to design this sort of drivel that is totally useless. Forget the app, look at your bills.0
