Chase Debit Card not accepted at Asda Petrol Station

Twice I have tried to use my Chase debit card at Asda Card only
Petrol Station and each time it gets rejected so I have to use my Curve
debit card which is linked to Chase card.
I have sufficient funds in the account, not sure what the limit is but have over £200 so thought that would be okay.
Anyone else have this problem?0

Pay at pump Petrol station need to do a pre authorisation, which I believe it used to be £100 but was changed recently as the price of fuel has meant that some cannot get a full tank with that.
the pre authorisation on a bank account without overdraft means that the amount get blocked further use until the final transaction is fully processed, so I am guessing your balance may be too close to the pre authorisation or your particular account have some lower limits for pre authorisation1
