Gas meter broken where do I stand?
My fixed tariff ended on 28/7 . As requested I tried to give a final meter reading on the 27/7 but couldn’t because the display on the meter is not working. I was advised to request a smart meter instalment but there are none available. I have said I’m happy to have a standard meter installed. I am now on a standard variable tariff. My question is where do I stand legally with payment as A. a final reading was not taken and B. there is now no measure of my gas consumption and C there are no smart meters available?
