When changing supplier does someone come round to physically take meter readings?

NO you have to submit them and if you can take a date stamped photo of the meter.2

The gaining supplier is responsible for the transfer of supply. It will ask you for meter readings which are subject to industry validation. Once validated, the readings are passed to both suppliers to open and close your accounts. Sending your old supplier a reading will just confuse the process. The losing supplier has 6 weeks from the transfer of supply to raise a Final Bill. This is how the process works:

The validation process is to ensure that the switch readings are inline with industry expectations. It is also a way of the industry checking that the meter reading is correct (some people have been known to give kWh for gas and not cubic metres/feet).What_time_is_it said:Thanks @dolor.
