I've looked at our now variable tariff and it says 28.455p and 43p per day standing charge. We are with Shell.
Is this alot? What is everyone else's for comparison?
Newbie BTW so hope Post is OK.

The same as you as that's pretty much the cap0

If it's the price cap tariff then you'll pay the same as everyone else in your region. If it's an old fix then it's pretty irrelevant to anyone else as they're not available anymore. One reason why the comparison sites aren't working at the moment.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.1

@Onourwayup You are on a price capped tariff (SVT) and this is what the headlines are about. That 28p will be going up and may even double on 1st Oct.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Maybe not in October, but by January the predictions see it more than double, about 66p with regional differences, so for some slightly less and for others slightly more.Alnat1 said:@Onourwayup You are on a price capped tariff (SVT) and this is what the headlines are about. Only people who are on fixed tariff will pay less, or in some cases more if they recently have taken a fixed tariff, paying more now to pay less from October.0 -
I normally always get to take the wrong decision. However last August when choosing my next contract I hovered over the two buttons one was for a 1 year fix and for a little more a 2 year fix. Normally being dumb and mean I’d do the wrong thing but it turns out for once I feared my inner instinct about prices and I didn’t. My wife thought I was going bonkers when I told her “ … why don’t you do what you always do and shop around in a year …. “ - I took the higher tariff and fixed. She is happier with me now.
