  • Thank you all for the comments. Yes they have left. I’m not sure what’s up with the husband as he’s claiming they don’t live together but has returned the keys to my partner at they’re  workplace without a word.

Upon receiving the keys we decided to inspect the property, I’m just at lost for words and very stressed out. All the letters from what I believe are the court ones are sat on the floor. There’s a foul stench in the entire house. There’s bags full of stuff (i don’t know) just left in the house, packs of nappies, they’ve left some cupboards, ripped wallpaper, doors and walls are stained brown. We found out from British Gas (supplier) that they left on the 4th August. For some reason every switch was left on. And the monitor for the smart meter. Oh lord. It’s broken and covered in stuff.

I’ve spoken to British Gas to tell them that we’re in possession of the house and will be proceeding to refurbish the house as it’s need of plenty of TLC. So we’re playing for the gas and electricity now. For some reason, there’s no electricity and gas coming into the house even though the meter has been topped up. It also seems to be taking money out but there’s nothing switched on in the house as nothing works. All switches have been checked and it looks like I’ll have to be contacting an engineer to check this.
