Absolutely. Everyone needs to get used to thinking in terms of kwhs and standing charges.
At the moment I suspect most people do not know how much energy they use. Most still think in terms of £xxx per month on the DD or on the prepayment card.
It's a easy paradigm shift to make - kind of like thinking about petrol in terms of price per litre.
Actually, that reminds me of the old joke about petrol prices not affecting me because I always put in £20.

If you have an older plasma TV then switch to a newer oled tv, 400w vs 100w in my case when I swapped.

Still can take a while for payback.
But you do get a new TV as part of it!

My old 50" Pioneer Kuro plasma that cost £300 third hand is so good I'll not be switching any time soon B) .  No wish to contribute to more e-waste by discarding a device that works perfectly, or to drop ~ £1000 on a new telly when bills are rising.

You can get a good quality new 50" LED TV for £250. No need to spend £1000, and you will be helping the planet in the long run through significantly lower energy usage
