does anyone have any information re this company Snap Travel?
They are coming in at a lot cheaper for a hotel than others so I’m not sure if it’s too good to be true

there appear to be quite a few reviews of people turning up at hotels to find no room booked

Thank you so much for that! What about Stayforlong?0

Try a review site like TripAdvisor or TrustPilot.

I made a booking with SnapTravel for a hotel earlier this year. They were significantly cheaper than most other sites (coincidentally so were Stayforlong).
The booking went through and I received my accommodation voucher. The booking was via a third party bed bank, the voucher stated "issued on behalf of YouTravel".
In the end I got cold feet a little bit, not because I didn't trust them, but I found a UK based site offering the same hotel for a similar price, so I cancelled my SnapTravel booking and rebooked. I only did this because I was getting such a good price I thought keeping it with a UK supplier would make things easier if I had issues.
Anyway the accommodation voucher arrived for my new booking with the UK site, low and behold it was "issued on behalf of YouTravel". Everything was fine at the hotel, so I expect all would have been fine had I kept with SnapTravel.
Agents using bed banks isn't anything unusual and sometimes you can get excellent prices. Only thing I would suggest is checking with the hotel before departure to confirm they have your booking.1 -
Both companies are based overseas which means if things go wrong and Snap looks like a nightmare for US residents, and that is where it is based, it is very difficult to get any redress at all. There are no trade associations to complain to. any legal action is night impossible. Stayforlong is based in Barcelona and on Trustpilot has 88% bad reviews. You pay your money and take a real chance I would suggest......2
