Problem with Eon

For 6 months we have had a problem with our electricity meter as it is not recording our usage. Eon fitted another meter but that is not recording either. They now say that they will have to fit a smart meter instead. So how are we going to know how much electricity we have used in the last 6 months. I am worried that we will be ripped off and what with the prices so high this is causing me so much stress. We are pensioners
