How can I access my final statement from Peoples’s Energy? The link from the email I received from them does not work, it says, the server cannot be found. We normally pay £150 by direct debit to British Gas. In August they have taken £880, more than my monthly salary,  and are saying we still owe them £400. They started supplying our energy on 22nd October. Their website shows our smart meter reading of approximately 69000 on this date which we agree is correct. For some reason in June they updated our 22nd October to 3rd Jan statement with a start reading of approximately 63000. This was a massive shock to us, as they are saying we owe them approx. £1200. When I spoke to British Gas they said we had to send them our final statement from Peoples Energy which would show our final meter reading. Unfortunately, I don’t know how I can access this. I thought smart meters were supposed to save the hassle of sending meter readings, giving accurate energy consumption and therefore only paying for what you use. How can they now say that we owe them money from a reading of approx. 63000 when our meter reading from our smart meter is saying it was 69000 on 22nd October on their website?
