Scottish Power Feed in tariff

I sent my reading to SP on 1st July via an e mail and photograph as per their instructions.  Received e mail on 20th accepting reading and stating money would be paid by end of month. 1st August no money so contacted SP to be told that due to an error on their behalf my account had been suspended.  Told I would have to wait at least another 4 to 6 weeks at least for my payment.  Have been unable to get in contact with anyone at SP to help.  Awaiting response to letter sent last week, not holding out any hope.  Has anyone else had these problems.

I have not had that problem but.....
SP I am sad to say have a very bad reputation on the supply side. So much so I had to take them to the ombudsman to get a financial reimbursement. I would hope the FIT payment side is better for you. If you have issues you can change your FIT payer.

I am with BG for FIT payment and might just be lucky but never an issue (thats done it!) or payment delay!

Any idea why your account has been suspended? Not a billing or payment problem on the fuel supply side that is being disputed. Do you really mean FIT which has been paid for many a year or is this for a new system and it is actually SEG payments/allowance?
  • All I know is that an employee of SP on the FIT made an error when submitting my readings, other than that I was told nothing else.  I have had my panels for several years and this is the 1st serious problem I have had with SP.   A friend who is also with SP has been told they cannot accept his reading as the photograph he submitted does not clearly show the Serial number but it is very clear on the picture.  I hope they just aren't making excuses to delay payment.  I am still awaiting any form of response to my letter or e mail.

I've had my FIT with SP since installation (11 years ago).

They're not the fastest payers - usually taking two to three weeks before my bank account is credited (though we're never really desperate for the cash) but they have been fairly reliable and moved my reporting quarter end to 31st March when I asked.

We've had two - possibly three - visits to confirm meter is still working over the period.
