Having signed up a year ago, my skills must be very poor or not needed as I've never been asked to help anyone! I'd love to hear more information from those who have given help, or asked for help and how it happened and worked out and so on.

I'd not want to go registering, only to find there's nobody within 300 miles of me except one face painter and somebody who wants a goat.

I got tired of Freecycle after the second person who asked me to post something I'd offered (before I'd offered them it personally.) Without any suggestion they might pay for the postage. Also dubious of timebank-a-likes after coming across one that charged to sign up...

So is timebanking.org related to timebank.org?

I'm really sorry you feel you have to mix with people of the "moneygrabbing" variety when you obviously abhor them/us, perhaps MSE isn't the website for you

I think you'll find the title of the thread is Helping Others for Free, which is exactly what users on MSE do.

Where do you live? I am based in the countryside about 30 miles from Birmingham and there are 200 other people where I live, so I think you may be pleasantly surprised!

Its a slightly cautious approach to life! If you join and don't like it, you can just unregister.
