Why do BG show their charges this way?

BG are showing our bill online in a way that makes it really awkward to track. It seems they’re keeping a running total via charges and reversals. I don’t understand why.

Neither do I, it seems bonkers to keep cancelling and reissueing a bill. Makes it very hard to keep track of things. At least mine are different dates.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

I had the same, it appeared to me that the transferred readings from old supplier were not finalised for some time so I had 10 days usage that I hadn't paid for. To be honest I was hoping it would fall through the cracks but it was finally charged.
If the last reissued bill has opening readings what agree with the closing on the previous supplier it will be okay.
The only thing I did find was that the actual readings I'd given on tariff change dates were estimated rather than using my readings, but the difference was minor and in my favour.

Sorry, should have said that completely reversing something and reissuing is a best practice thing because it gives a clear as is possible audit trail. The only other option would be to make a new bill for variances and that would be even more difficult for many people to understand.
