Heathrow Fine, DRP letters sent to wrong address

Yesterday I received 2 letters from DRP saying I owe £300 in total. This was the 1st I knew about it. So this morning I contacted APCOA asking when the original letters where sent as I never got either. They advised of the dates but that they can't help anymore as its been past to DRP (Debt recovery plus) So I message them they advised the letters where sent to an address I lived at 6 yrs ago!
When I said I wanted to appeal it they said the time for appealing had come and gone and now my only choice was to pay the £300. I asked how I could have appealed when I was not aware of the fines.
I will be contacting DLVA to find out about my address but meantime, any suggestions on where to go next?

I will be contacting DLVA to find out about my address but meantime, any suggestions on where to go next?I'd simply check the address showing on your V5C (logbook), I'd suggest you have probably failed to inform the DVLA your change of address (just updating your driving licence doesn't update your V5C). If that's the case, get it updated now, 2 minute job online. You must ignore DRP - they are powerless, you cannot stop them sending silly letters, but that's all they can do. APCOA have never issued a court claim for any unpaid parking charge - ever, so something tells me that you are unlikely to be their very first victim. Come back if things change.Meantime, sort out that address, because the police and local authorities use the V5C address for statutory penalties, much more serious and potentially damaging for you if you don't receive any of their notices. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
