Any reputable companies that advise on home energy efficiency?

Might be a naive question with an obvious answer... but given I've got 15 months on a fix until all hell breaks loose, I'd be more than happy to pay for impartial expert advice on where I can improve energy efficiency in my house. Not so much about 'use the tumble dryer less', but identifying where there is wastage/heat loss in my current water system, weak points in the house for losing heat etc (the loft was converted and well insulated a few years back so unlikely to be that obvious).

What I don't want is some hard sell by an insulation company telling me that I need to do things that will actually only get me limited benefit. Hence why it's a service that I'd pay for to get specific actionable advice that comes with an energy/cost saving estimate...

Any suggestions?

Best time of year to do any thermal imaging is in the depths of winter. That way, you get maximum contrast between hot and cold areas. Some local councils have a loan/hire scheme for thermal imaging cameras. Octopus do/did something similar for their customers.
I have had muppets cold calling claiming to do energy efficiency "surveys". One bunch was flogging uPVC windows, and the other, spray foam insulation. Both reported.. The spray foam clown, I made darn sure to waste as much of his time as possible before giving him the roasting he deserved.
So yes, you are right to be cautious and skeptical of anyone offering "free" surveys.

Insulation is only part of the solution. Killing the draughts at source will make a huge difference - Using a thermal imaging camera from the inside of the property should highlight where the draughts are as well as any cold bridges & gaps in the insulation.

If you were in Scotland I would suggest contacting Home Energy Scotland but there must be similar in your area?
