Hi,
As the name says, I am looking for a multi asset fund to invest in. I already have vanguard lifestrategy 80/20. The amount is sizeable, and therefore inc vanguard, and another multi asset portfolio, I am investing 20% in different funds.
Any recommendations, as to a solid choice for a multi asset portfolio ? I'm thinking vanguard LS 50%, Various products 20%, 30% multi asset fund (to be decided).

Any recommendations, as to a solid choice for a multi asset portfolio ? I'm thinking vanguard LS 50%,There isn't a VLS50. And you would have to ask what you would achieve by holding multiple VLS funds.

Here are some:

The splits operate in the following way.
1. VLS:
With this you chose the share/bond split. They then will re-balance to maintain it at that split. You have to accept the market risk that goes with the split.2. HSBC Global Strategy Portfolio Fund
With this you chose the risk level (e.g. balanced) you are comfortable with. They then re-balance the funds assets to maintain it at that risk level. This is called a “Risk Targeted Fund”

It would be quite unusual, but not unheard of if there's a meaningful rationale, to hold VLS80 as well as other products in 20-30% equities territory - if that's what you're suggesting, how does this align with your investment objectives and risk tolerance?johnadams7 said:As the name says, I am looking for a multi asset fund to invest in. Edit: seeing the post below, I think I misconstrued what you had in mind! The fundamental point remains though, i.e. the importance of considering the allocation and risk of your overall portfolio.0 -
I think the OP means they want 50% of their portfoilio in VLS, not VLS50.dunstonh said:Any recommendations, as to a solid choice for a multi asset portfolio ? I'm thinking vanguard LS 50%,There isn't a VLS50. And you would have to ask what you would achieve by holding multiple VLS funds.2 -

What are you trying to do by adding another multi-asset fund? Any VLS fund is highly diversified already and if VLS80 works for you then stick with it. If you want to change your asset allocation then just transfer some to another VLS fund or cash.johnadams7 said:Hi,
