Hello all,
I am in the process of purchasing a property with Solar Panels. I have checked the lease and the company. Turns out the company was dormant at the time.
Does this make the initial contract null and void ?
Thank you

This is something that your solicitor should be doing as part of his/her searches. If it is a ‘rent a roof’ scheme and the installer has gone into receivership then the FIT is normally sold on as it has value. You can check if FIT is being paid by checking the central FIT register.

Does this make the initial contract null and void ?No, it is not uncommon to form a dormant company to hold a property asset such as a lease.
