If your windows are prone to condensation, does it affect the film?  Does it lose stickiness or become mouldy?  Thanks.

I'm overlooked at the back and front and thinking of getting a reputable company to supply and fit clear window film.  The type that lets you see out but reverses at night when lights on.  (I'll close curtains then). My main concerns are longevity (film, not me!), and I don't want to lose any heat but most seem to offer that as a benefit of having it.

Wondering if anyone has any experience of similar?
You mean window tint, The darker you go the less they can see in but if the room is still bright then they will probably still see in some, The is also no way around them blocking some of the solar gain.  I think only Mirror film can give 100% Privacy.
The is then the problem that in winter of it feeling to dark and people often decide to get rid.

I found some static stick film on amazon, easier to pull of if its a fail, Maybe try it as a trail before paying pro's £00's

  • We had some of this on a very sunny window (installed by a previous occupant) It worked well to reduce glare. However, it was responsible for the untimely and sudden demise of several wood pigeons! It had a slightly reflective finish and reflected the trees at the bottom of the garden. the sound of birds 'whamping' in the window startled me several times. We tried hanging string streamers down the outside of the window - which then annoyed the heck out of us (and the dog) on windy nights so in the end we removed it and put up a net curtain...
Well at least you gave it a go, you can't say you didn't try!

I was surprised how much I liked my static film, the glazier who replaced all my windows last year was less than impressed though!
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

To be fair it was useful stuff - it helped stop sun bleach fading on the sofa and the wooden floor but in the end, the only thing sad to see it go was the neighbours cat who had taken to sitting under our window in expectation of the cat version of 'Just Eat'  :D
