Can my returning daughter bring her good energy tariff to my house

My daughter is getting divorced and moving back (with my granddaughter) to live with my wife and I. She currently has a great fixed rate for gas and electricity (for the house that is being sold) with EON until October 2023. My rate is at the cap with Octopus Energy.
EON seem happy to transfer the rate to my house in her name - but are there any “catches” (e.g. credit ratings etc.) with my energy bills being in her name and coming from her account. Obviously I’ll reimburse her for the bills!

No. As I understand it the tariff is for the property not the person. So no one can move house and get the same deal.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Not 100% true, before the crisis it was normal to take your tariff with you and some suppliers still allow it.
If the supplier allows it it in general it will still be a problem as the energy account will have to be in her name not yours.1 -
Some energy companies are prepared to do it, if you are all happy for the account to change to your daughters name then go for it. Not quite sure how it will happen, assume you will have to tell Octopus you're moving out.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

The only way would be for her to take on the Octopus account as new occupier then switch to EON.Now, what the EON phone reps have told her and what actually happens might be two completely different things !0
