I received a £25 credit this morning, but:
    1. the draw is tomorrow (4th June)
    2. I only have £100 in bonds
    3. It usually takes 3-4 days to receive the prize
    4. The account is to auto-invest

    Must be a !!!!!!-up!
I think the draw takes place at the end of the previous month (31st May). Results are available on the first working day of the month's draw (3rd June), but are only available to check on NS&I the following day (4th June).

It takes them around 8 days to pay prizes, so prizes for May would have been received on 9th May.

What reference is on your bank statement for the £25? Does it say Pbz at the end?

I too have had £25 paid in to my account on 3 June and assumed they had somehow already paid me for the June draw but, having just checked, I've won a whopping £275 this month.  I won £25 in May and that was paid to me on 9 May. Wonder if they've paid everyone £25 on 3 June by mistake!!

NS&I do re-award some prizes if the original winners were ineligible to receive the prize for some reason (i.e they died 12+ months before the draw) - so sometimes there are additional payouts to reserve bond numbers at some point later.

I don't know if there's a set interval for this happening, but the one I personally encountered was paid by paper warrant in April for a draw the previous October - not mine, but to my late aunt's estate I was executing.  I know that others in the PB thread have reported late 'out of the blue' receipts in this manner.

If you keep a record of your wins and the bond numbers, you might be able to trace back where an additional amount has been added in your PB account at NS&I.

I have also just noticed a £25 credit in my account today (ref: NsPbz) but I know that I won a total of £225 this month (2 x £100 and 1 x £25) but these are showing as pending payments not yet credited.  Seems like I have been credit with a random extra £25!  Not complaining obviously.  Just for info, on £16k worth of premium bonds, I have won £1,450 so far this year which I'm quite happy with.
  • I’ve won £50 this month. Had it paid into my account 10/6 then received a further £25 on the 20th. No idea why.

    See BooJewels post above.

  • Just thanks for this thread.
I've just swapped to payment into account as maxed out on bonds.
ns in lowercase doesn't exactly say it.
Also delay in notification of win a few days before payment. Which came in at 2 minutes after midnight!

Did anyone come up with the correct answer to these deposits?

I received a £25 deposit today and wonder if it's a scam. It's not Premium Bonds as I sold all of mine a few years ago except for £20 so checked my NS&I account, I'm not waiting for a refund or payment from a company or an individual, I don't think it's a prize - so I'm lost on this one.

How do I find the reason for the deposit to my account please and should I inform my bank that I don't know where it came from?

It could be a re-awarded prize from some time ago: see BooJewels' comment above. £25 with a PBZ reference* sounds suspiciously like a Premium Bond prize.

I'd wait a few days to see whether something explaining it turns up in the post.

*I'm assuming you're posting in this thread because it has a PBZ reference.

If you've still got 20 Premium Bonds, one of them could have won.
