7days performance

Looking at the comps on 7days performance website. High value cars and cash up for grabs. Most comps don’t meet the max number of sales but the draw still goes ahead. Just wondering how on earth they make their money. Are these comps legit.
Watrched the live draw yesterday. The bloke who won the car said he had won a couple of times from them. It seems to good to be true.

There are many sites like this so presumably there is good money in it for them - all of the ones I have looked at offer a free postal entry route so they avoid most of the gambling act regulations1

They are legit, but the odds of winning are low. Most comps sell out or sell a lot of tickets on the last day, and they set the amount of tickets significantly more than the actual value.. so for example there's a £20,000 cash prize getting drawn now.. they've sold 27408 tickets at 99p each so they've taken £27,133.92 . Easy 7 grand profit for them just on one draw. A lot of their draws are like this and on the small chance that a draw doesn't sell the minimum amount of tickets needed to break even, they've easily made whatever money they've lost on one of the other draws. It would only take 5 mins to look at the prize value, price of tickets and total tickets sold when draws are closed and you'll see they're making a lot of money
They also randomly allocate you a number when you place your order and use googles random number generator to pick a random number so the guy who won a couple of times is just very lucky. You can't cheat their system and as you saw on the live draw, they do it on camera so people can't accuse them of rigging anything.1 -
They are legit and there are numerous of them now, Rev Comps, Aspire, Dream Car Giveaways, The Car Competition and loads more. I wouldn't bank on getting many (if any) postal entries entered, there are several people on the Pistonheads forum who send postal entries and keep track of how many entries they get and the success rate is low. Also, many of them have winners who win regularly, but, if you look at the published entry lists those people are maxing out the number of entries they are allowed for the competitions and are quite literally spending thousands of pounds a month on entries. Of course, one win and it pays for itself and they can then enter even more. A guy on Pistonheads won 2 cars in 2 seperate comps in the space of a week, but admitted he was spending approx. £2,000 a month on entries.:easter:3
